You’re the next contestant on: “Name That Town” in Colorado!
Clue: A donkey enclosure
Answer: Aspen

In a world where 63 percent of Americans 18-24 cannot find Iraq on a world map and 70 percent couldn’t locate Iran or Israel, our kids need all the geographic education they can get. And local Mountain Ridge Middle School teacher David Valier has found a fun way to teach Colorado geography to kids. (And adults — me included.)
With the help of his students, Valier assembled a “Name That Town” game where word-play hints describe the names of towns both large and small in our state. And now The Gazette has placed some of his best geographic brain teasers online to test readers’ knowledge.
Do you know which town can be described as an injured stream? Which one is a potato shock absorber?
If so, try your hand at the interactive quiz (click here: www2.gazette.com/interactives/namethattown). The Pikes Peak Parent staff scored an impressive 88 percent correct. That’s the power of putting your heads together!
And, well, we did use this handy list of Colorado cities from Wikipedia and, ahem, this cheat sheet from The Gazette.
