
Perhaps your child (or you or your spouse or a co-worker) has been struck by the flu-like symptoms that have been making the rounds lately according to today’s Gazette. In fact, it was so widespread at James Irwin Charter School — 30 percent of students and 15 percent of teachers were out sick on Monday — that the elementary closed its doors yesterday and today to give the afflicted time to recover.
It’s only February, and we’ve already surpassed the number of flu-related hospitalizations from last year’s relatively mild flu season (26). Hmm, that doesn’t make me feel too good.
